After dispatching an ordinaryish, successfulish life to the winds, spending 18 months on what is called spiritual peregrination by some, mental illness by others, I am back to a close approximation of the ordinary life of, say, 3 years ago. It will only ever be an approximation of life before – I will never be the same, and for that I am grateful.
It feels good to return to the frontiers of AVS and work with new and old friends in the industry – all the more enjoyable as I no longer have a desktop publishing business to annoy me.
There are very many things I would like to share about the body/mind/spirit triad within and without the AVS context. This will require a bit more thought.
On the AVS hardware front, I hope to have a MindLights for review in the next week or so.
Latest software toy… MadTracker (http://www.madtracker.org/) is a free and very fun tool for creating AVS background tracks. It is a “tracker” type music creation application. Trackers are an older methodology , preceding sequencers, but very easy to understand and to start producing useful results. It supports VST plugins – access to innumerable free synthesizers, effects and so on.
