Hello craig, I received my Laxman, but am having a hell of a time trying to work the Lax edit program. Basically due to the fact that I am not the most computer savy person you could find, lol. I read their manual over and over again, my problem is I can download MP3s no problem by using my Windows Media Player and then adding the chosen MP3 to the sinc list. But haven’t been able to add any sessions I have made using my own MP3′s. Heck I can’t even find out how to download the extra sessions from the laxman Site, like the Audiostrobe files or anything. Any help with my confusion would be much appreciated. I wrote the company but I don’t think they understand english to good. Oh, by the way I love this unit! Thank you for all your help with my decision.
Hi John,
Pleased to hear that you’re enjoying the Laxman.
The process of preparing a session is simply to open an MP3 file in LaxEdit and then addd beats and light settings – it is exactly as simple as it appears.
Where things can get tricky is persuading the Laxman to enter the correct mode when connecting by USB. The sequence that works is… start Laxman on batteries. Go to Device Settings and change Data Transfer to On. Then connect the USB cable. After a few moments you will see a drive called “Laxman” appear in Windows Explorer (a removable drive will also appear if you have installed your own SD card) and you’ll see all the supplied Laxfiles and MP3s. You can then copy your MP3s and Laxfiles directly to this drive (drag and drop) whereupon you can unplug the USB (after ejecting/safely remove drive). You’ll find your new session in Sessions and the MP3 itself listed under MP3 Player
Hopefully this is what you needed – if not let me know with a more detailed account of where you’re having trouble.
Cheers,
Craig
Thank you sir, you have helped me immensely.
My pleasure
