Blog Stats

I’m sure lots of you are using WordPress blogs too, so you’ll be familiar with the info made available.

As time has passed I have realised that there are some very fundamental questions that land people on my site. I can tell that some will exit as quickly as possible, while sometimes there is a real sense of either exploration or desperation.

I’ve written a couple of posts based on specific searches. Ones that stand out like that are quite unusual – mostly most people who get here have a good idea of exactly what information they are wanting. I’m pretty thrilled to say that I can look at most of the questions and know that I have contributed a considered opinion on that matter.

There’s at least one or two of you who get to the end of my posts, but have you noticed my little, “Thank you, come again” and a read count. I’m incredibly grateful for your indulgence. It’s an immense privilege being granted “authority” in even a small area of specialisation. It’s a thrill to see the tiny circle of people with an interest so similar to mine growing a little wider every month. It’s hard not to react to the day-to-day peaks and troughs, but as the months go by and the upward trend continues, I begin to feel safe among friends. Should it happen that the mainstream decide what I’m doing is of interest, it will be sad to have blog stats with such ridiculously high numbers that any sense of the people behind those numbers vaporises. I can’t imagine what it would feel like if I could no longer keep up personal email contact with anyone who wishes to toss some ideas around.

Cheers,
Craig

P.S. Paying close attention to the WordPress grammar checker, I am. My hope, it is, that you are finding the occurrence frequency of some of my more appallingly convoluted structures diminishing. Perfect grammar!
